Suresh Pawar took this photo at the famous Dadar flower market during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The flower market is one of the biggest and busiest in the city and is teeming with people during the 10-day festival, which is one of the many religious events in Mumbai. Suresh, who is 53 years old, lives on the street in Grant Road, which has been his home for the last 40 years. He belongs to the Pardhi community, which has been historically marginalised in the country. Suresh said that the women in the photo also belongs to his community. Suresh said he does seasonal work which includes selling flowers and flower garlands and taking up odd jobs as and when he gets them.
