Kenny Murphy asked Joan Ball, who is known as Za, to pose for this shot. “She was big in computer dating in the 1960s when it first took off. You can read about her on Wikipedia.” They live in sheltered accommodation and were taking a break at a cafe after unsuccessfully looking for the Columbia Road Flower Market. From Scotland, Kenny has been in London for 15 years. When he was homeless he slept in Covent Garden. He’s been the MYLONDON finalist photos several times but this is the first time he has managed to get into the calendar – securing the cover shot as well.
