John Burton
This was the second year John has had winning shots in the MYLONDON contest. In 2023 he had an amazing four in the Top 25 photos and in 2024 he not only had two photos in the Top 25 but two of them were voted into the 2025 MYLONDON calendar.
Raven, Tower of London. John Burton took a series of shots around the Tower of London including this shot of a raven. Folk law says that if the ravens ever leave the Tower, London and the Kingdom will fall. “One of them sat perfectly for a photogenic picture so I thought ‘why not capture him?’.” John took a second stunning photo of a raven just in front of the Tower of London which can be seen on our website.
2025 MYLONDON calendar (August image)
New information about this photo! This is Jubilee, the oldest raven at the Tower of London. All the ravens have names and quite tame according to a staff member of The Tower. Another interesting fact: The monkey sculptures on the wall in the background are there to remember the zoo that was once housed in The Tower.
