MyLondon 2022 top 20 (featuring the 2023 MyLondon calendar photos)
These were taken in early July 2022, chosen from the 100 Fujifilm QuickSnap cameras handed out to people with lived experience of homelessness. Greetings cards £2.50 where listed on photo pages.
Pillar Box, Soho by Allan Miller
Allan Miller decided to take this shot of a Royal Mail pillar box on Dean Street as it was a simple but clear symbol of London. He took a close-up of the stickers near the top of the box and only a few hours later returned to take the whole pillar box. "I liked the view on the left - it gives you a little bit of depth down the street." Pillar boxes show the royal cypher of the reigning monarch at the time. It is possible to see VR for Queen Victoria all the way to ERII for the late Queen Elizabeth II shown om this "Type C" pillar box. Second Place (Judges' Choice) and December in the 2023 MyLondon calendar.
