“Hyde Park is one of my favourite places. I feel magic, which I’m yet to uncover. What first attracted me to the carousel was its elaborate ornamentation, its heart-warming tacky aesthetics. But it’s when it got going that I was compelled to try to capture this expression of joie de vivre. A moment in which I felt the lost wisdom of childhood was recovered.” Milena described how the carousel had images of famous landmarks painted on it. “It’s the way that they were painted.
