Cafe Art Challenge!

Londoners heading to Spitalfields E1 Market tomorrow will be greeted by The Challengeparticipants in a Cafe Art hosted competition to attract art lovers. Young adults from The Challenge will give out yellow or green flyers near Liverpool Street station in a fun contest to see how many people they can give the flyer to who will find the Cafe Art table in the Market (we'll be outside LEON cafe). For fun, the winning team will win a box of chocolates. However it's not about the table where we will be selling paintings (and pushing the Kickstarter selling the calendar). It's about people connecting with the public. Like Cafe Art's philosophy, The Challenge has a goal of helping people gain confidence. In July Cafe Art photographers David Tovey and ROL worked on a photography project looking into homelessnessthrough the eyes of people who have been homeless. David Tovey was the photographer who took the cover photo of the Cafe Art 2015 My London calendar. ROL is the photographer of the 2016 calendar cover. Tomorrow, 12 September, David Tovey will be accompanied by another 2016 photographer Zin Vaiteikunas who took the photograph West End Birds (October). David has a photo in the 2016 calendar as well, titled Bags for Life (February). The Challenge is a charity which aims to build a more integrated society in the UK and works with teenagers. The Cafe Art artists and The Challenge youth will be at Spitalfields E1 from 11am to 3pm tomorrow Saturday 12 September. If you are in the area, please drop by and say hello to David and Zin!
